The RNGC (Sulentic and Tifft 1973) notes that this is a 11.5 mag galaxy. Their coded description reads E,EL,BM.
UGC: pa95.
POSS: m10 * 2'.5 E/sl S. -21 3'.6 SSW.
7x35mm - fairly f but unmistakeable. forms triangle w/m7 * N and m9 * E.
gx appears sub*ar. BS, 28Apr1992, TSP.
6cm - vis as pair w/m10 * to its ESE. well concen to almost-*ar nuc.
7cm - mod br, mod sm gx W of m10.5 * @ 30x. 50x: sl oval elong ENE-WSW (points
N of *). mod sharp concen to vsm vbr core and occas-vis *ar nuc. BS,

30cm - br, vwell concen. 2'.2x1' in pa80. oval core & br non*ar nuc.
Tom Lorenzin, in the electronic version of "1000+ The Amateur Astronomers' Field Guide to Deep Sky Observing", notes: "11.1M; 2' x 1' extent; bright, almost stellar nucleus to this small patch; 11M star 3' to WSW; 70' to ENE is very faint SP GAL N4256 (13M; 3' x 0.5' extent), a ghostly slash."
