16-inch f/10 SCT (127x 290x 462x)
The galaxy displays a very soft glow with a large hazy outer envelope around a 1/3 the size of the whole object. The nucleus is very dense but not star like. The area around the south of NGC 3244 is littered with galaxies. NGC 3276 was vaguely visible as another glow slightly elongated in an east to west direction.
Alldays (22.50S, 20.12E, 770m).
12-inch f/10 SCT (218x), 16-inch f/10 SCT (127x, 290x, 462x)
Very faint but round little glow, slightly brighter core. NGC3250 is just 15arc minutes to the east. A lovely soft short spindle shining like a soft out of focus light beam in a north to south direction and even in surface brightness which is faint. There is a handful of galaxies to the east of NGC 3244.
