NGC 6056 = IC 1176, which see.
The RNGC (Sulentic and Tifft 1973) notes that this is a 15.0 mag galaxy. Their coded description reads EL,HISB,2COM S.
Buta & Corwin (1986, Ap.J.Supp 62, p255-281) lists NGC 6056 as a member of the Hercules Supercluster (CGCG Field 108).
Corwin (1971, Pub. Astron. Soc. Pacific, Vol 83) gives the dimensions as 16x10 arcseconds. He notes: "The RNGC lists NGC 6056 as the north following of two small galaxies south-preceding NGC 6056. This identification is improbable as both objects are much fainter than NGC 6056."
