Type: galaxy (AGN LINER-type), E/S0
Mag: B=14.1, V=?
Size: 1.148′ x 1.047′
Together with NGC 5930 listed as No. 90 in Arp's "Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies" (Astrophysical Journal Supplement, vol. 14, 1966.) He remarks "absorption lanes around companion."
The RNGC (Sulentic and Tifft 1973) notes that this is a 14.0 mag galaxy. Their coded description reads EL,BM,SLDIFHALO, CONT W/30.
Van den Bergh (1961, Astronomical Journal, Vol 66, p566) notes that this galaxy forms a pure pair with NGC 5930 0.5 arcminutes away.
Steve Coe, using a 13" f/5.6, notes: "Pretty faint, small, round and little brighter in the middle at 165X. These two galaxies (NGC 5929 and NGC 5930) form a contact pair that is elongated 2 X 1 in PA 45, somewhat like a figure 8."

NE-SW are sim-br and in common env. 1'.0 diam, sl elong NE-SW. mod broad
