William Herschel (c.1784)

Synonyms: H III-699

Discovered in 1788 by William Herschel with an 18.7-inch f/13 speculum telescope. He called it "vF, S, iF."

Sulentic & Tifft (1973)

The RNGC (Sulentic and Tifft 1973) notes that this is a 14.0 mag galaxy. Their coded description reads E,R,BM.

POSS: 4' E of -53/50 line.

UGC: pa35:.

25cm - sm, < 0'.5 diam, round w/*ar nuc. located 3' E of a line btwn -53/50.

30cm - pretty f, sm, 1'x0'.5 in pa180 [= zero], some concen to vf *ar nuc.
