Position (1900): RA 5 16.4, Dec + 8 20
Star: 8 933 (Mp=5.44, V=5.71, SpT=B2)
Spectrum of nebula: continuous spectrum (inferred from sp.t. of illuminating star)
Classification: Neb associated with mainly one star (which may be multiple) - Fan-shaped object (eg. IC 59)
Notes: "The nebula connected with +8 933 = HD 34989 = Boss 6574. Discovered by Melotte and Lundmark on the FA plates in 1926 (502). (93 Pl 6, 339, 486, 630 Pl 33, 715)."

The large system of molecular clouds in Orion and Monoceros
Table 1, p. 380: Lists object "Mel 1" as associated with the Lambda Orionis Cloud component no. 4. Other objects associated with this component are Barnard 223, LDN 1588, LDN 1589, LDN 1590, Sharpless 263, Sharpless 265, and VDB 38.
